18 October 2013

Zombies, ghosts, monsters, vampires and werewolves are taking over FACT in the next few weeks as we prepare for the scariest time of the year, Halloween!

If you just can’t wait until 31 October for your dose of horror and gore, we’ve got two seasons of creepy, classic films to prepare you for Halloween’s festivities. Red Rum: The Films of Stephen King continues for one more week. Completing the season on Monday 21 October is George A Romero’s Creepshow, a loving tribute to 1950s comics with a top-notch comedy-horror cast and some magnificently ’80s makeup effects.

The long running BFI Bothic season continues until January 2014 and we have 6 of the best ‘Monstrous’ films in the run up to Halloween. Still to come we’ve got Dracula, Nosferatu, and The Elephant Man, screening each Sunday evening.

At 8pm on 30 October in The Box we are bringing two internationally recognised performers and musicians to FACT for a completely unique event. (Oc)cult features a special Halloween live performance of Possession Trance by Ryan Jordan and a live sound tracked screening of the silent film Häxan by Bronnt Industries Kapital. This warped, psychologically intense, and trance-like event sees a mixture of live, occult performance and a live-soundtracked screening of one of the weirdest films ever made.

From 31 October we are welcoming back Danny Boyle’s multi award winning National Theatre production of Frankenstein. With two encore screenings, this is another chance to see both Johnny Le Miller and Benedict Cumberbatch in the two lead roles in this phenomenally successful and critically acclaimed show.

Tickets for all our Halloween events are available now from the Box Office, by phone on 0871 902 5737 and online.
