BFI Film Academy

We have now recruited our 23 strong BFI Film Academy. This talented lot will enjoy an eight week filmmaking programme at FACT starting on 19 October. Hurricane Film’s Sol Papadopolous is our Lead Filmmaker who will be guiding the groups along in their film journey.

Freehand Connects

We have also recruited 24 young creatives to become our Freehand Connects youth forum. This means we have a gang of 16-25 year olds who will engage with our exhibition programme; researching, designing public programme, leading tours and shaping their own programme around the organisation and all of the exciting things we get involved in.

Innovation Labs

Our Innovation Labs project is also going strong. This project sees FACT, Red Ninja, Mersey Care and a group of 16-25 year olds developing a new digital tool to support young people in self-managing their mental health. Some of our team recently attended the International Association of Youth Mental Health Conference to meet other talented young people. Keep your eyes peeled for a blog post from that. We have set up a Twitter account @FACTinnovlabs and we have a blog (minime.fact.co.uk) so please follow us to keep up to date with the developments.

We hope to have a name for the app soon and to get going with the branding and design work for it! We have a real chance here to change people’s views of mental health and how they deal with their own.
