Avengers Assemble saw six of Marvel’s superheroes unite against Norse Gods, alien armies and the magical powers of ‘The Tesseract’. Now back on his own, Iron Man is suffering panic attacks and constant press intrusion into his life when supervillains, The Mandarin and Aldrich Killian emerge and attempt to destroy the world.

His trademark protective suit begins to fail him, and so he is left to rely on his wit, skill and instincts in order to protect the world from terror.

Robert Downey Jr returns once more to the Iron Man series saying that this time ‘we need to leave it all on the field’ and tell the story of Iron Man in a new a unique way which won’t have been seen before.

In his four-star review, The Telegraph’s Robbie Collins praises the performance of Iron Man’s girlfriend and assistant Pepper Potts who is once again played by Gwyneth Paltrow. Director Shane Black, who took over from Jon Favreau, is described as having ‘an instinctive feel for balancing action set-pieces against the passages of soap-opera’.

There a rumours that this may be Iron Man’s last appearance on screen, with Robert Downey Jr saying ‘Right now the future is uncertain’ but that there are things that he would still like to do with the character in the future.

The tickets for (possibly) the last ever Iron Man film are on sale now from the Box Office, by phone on 08719025737 and online. Iron Man 3 opens at Picturehouse at FACT on Thursday 25 April.
