Record Store Day, the world famous festival of independent record shops, music and vinyl returns this weekend, and to celebrate we’re showing Empire Records and hosting a pop up vinyl shop.

Record Store Day began in 2007 in America when over 700 shops came together to celebrate ‘the art of music’, in 2008 the idea came over to the UK, and now in it’s 6th year over 200 of the best indie record shops in the UK will be participating including Liverpool’s very own Probe and 3B Records.

Here at FACT we’re showing the 90s cult classic, Empire Records. The film follows a day in the life of a small independent record store as they battle against a faceless corporation who are attempting to take over the business.

Before the film, Liverpool’s newest pop up record shop Ramone Records will be taking over the bar with a selection of vinyl, Screenadelica posters and handmade crafts for sale from 11am till 6.30pm.

Our latest exhibition The Art of Pop Video will also be open 12pm - 6pm (FREE Entry)

Celebrate the best music, vinyl and independent shops in Liverpool this Saturday with Empire Records at FACT, showing at 6.30pm. Tickets are on sale now from the Box Office, Online and by phone on 08719025737.
