'Liverpool's most exciting new band', 'the band that the whole world wants a piece of', 'a band of massive potential', Outfit are undeniably one of the most exciting new bands to emerge from Liverpool's music scene in recent years.

Formed in 2011, when they were all living in the same house that they dubbed 'The Lodge', Outfit have been compared to Talking Heads, Franz Ferdinand, Wild Beasts, and Aphex Twin. Their music has been critically acclaimed with everyone from the Guardian and NME to hundreds of independent music blogs picking up on their recent releases.

The band, who have been working with FACT and Liverpool Sound City to help find the best new directing talent in the North West, will be playing live at the opening of The Art of Pop Video exhibition. Director Isaac Eastgate, based in Manchester, was chosen to create a video for the bands new song Performance which will receive its world premiere on the night alongside their set.

The Art of Pop Video opening is completely free, and open to the public. From 6pm the Galleries will be open to the public for an exclusive first look at the over 100 music videos in the exhibition.

From 6.30pm, our programme of special events in The Box kicks off with journalist, writer and broadcast Paul Morley speaking about the impact of music video on popular culture. Outfit will perform from 6.45pm, and then at 7pm director Uwe Flade will talk about his work and how the stunning video for Kenneth Bager's The Sound of Swing was created.

The opening is supported by Liverpool Organic Brewery, who will be providing a selection of their best ales to sample at the event.
