This September, Picturehouse at FACT's Chris, Leon, Alex, Mark and Tom will be pulling on their cycling shorts and joining staff from other Picturehouse cinemas across the country. Their aim will be to cycle to each of the 20 Picturehouse venues in the "Great Picturehouse Bike Relay" to raise money for Plan UK.

During the past four years, Picturehouse Cinemas have supported water and sanitation projects with Plan UK in Niger - a country where water is precious and over half the population are forced to drink dirty, dangerous water. Since 2008, Picturehouse has raised a total of £95,627, built three boreholes and given nearly 1,000 people access to clean water.

The first leg of the relay begins at the The Belmont Picturehouse in Aberdeen, and it will end in Exeter. The team from Picturehouse at FACT will cover not just the gruelling 128 mile trans-Pennine York to Liverpool leg, but also the 135 mile Liverpool to Stratford-upon-Avon leg of the 1,270-mile route.

To sponsor the Picturehouse at FACT team, go to their justgiving page or pop into the Box Office.
