Freehand (FACT's young people's programme) has gone into full throttle for this year's competition.

If you haven't heard of it, YLFN is our annual film competition for young filmmaking talent in Merseyside. Every year we invite local talent to submit their own films to the competition. Freehand members watch all the films and create a shortlist that they think showcases the young talent of this region. These shortlisted films are shown at FACT at a brilliant event that encompasses film, performance and of course, our local young talent!

This years theme is 'The Unexpected Guest' which is the title of the Liverpool Biennial 2012. We are really excited about this theme and after a lot of brain storming, mood boarding and discussion we came with the creepy hotel that FACT will become on the evening of the event. Who is the unexpected guest and what do they want? Do you dare unlock the doors in the haunted hotel? Do you dare enter your film?!

We want as many films as we can get so please make sure you get yours in! For more details and a submission form, please click here
