FACT Fifty is our individual giving scheme here at FACT. Members have chosen to donate £50 which goes towards our community and education arts programme across Liverpool and Merseyside.

To say thank you, we often organise events such as private tours of our exhibits with artists and curators and film screenings. On the evening of 30 August we will be doing something a bit different and inviting FACT Fifty members down to the Albert Dock for their own private tour of the The Kathleen and May schooner.

Built in 1900, this famous schooner is the only British built wooden triple mastsailing schooner still in existence. Though usually moored in Liverpool, it recently sailed the 700 miles to London where she was moored at the head of the Avenue of Sail for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. From London she headed to France where she was one of 12 ships sponsored by the French Government out of the two and a half thousand ships that were there.

Now that she has returned, FACT Fifty members will have the opportunity to look around the vessel and talk with the people who manage her gaining insight into her very interesting history.

If these types of events sound right up your street and you are interested in supporting FACT, you can find more information about the scheme here, we would love to hear from you.
