Introducing the next EMARE resident
16 May 2012
This year FACT - along with a host of international arts professionals at partner organisations - pored over more than 300 hundred submissions, eventually deciding on Amanda Gutiérrez to be the artist-in-residence at FACT.
Born in Mexico City in 1978, Amanda studied design in Mexico before completing graduate studies at the prestigious School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Specialising in performance and new media, Amanda has produced and exhibited work internationally.
During her residency at FACT, Amanda will be developing a new installation that considers the relationship between memory and time in the lives of three different Liverpool immigrants.
The final project will be exhibited at the Werkleitx Festival in East Germany in October 2012 and the Transitio Festival in Mexico in 2013 as well as here at FACT.
