Hack for Culture runs collaborative events that bring cultural organisations together with digital communities to facilitate digital prototyping and open data discovery. Open Labs at LJMU have invited FACT alongside other key Liverpool art organisations to throw some of our previously hidden data into the mix and Merseyside's Digital and Creative industries will also be invited to get involved.

The Hack for Culture event will take place over the weekend on the 3 and 4 March at LJMU's Art and Design Academy. If you haven't been to an event like this before, this is how it works  - developers and staff from arts organisations will have access to this newly available data and will be able to experiment and create prototypes in teams. There will also be the opportunity to win some prizes! The event will also feature several speakers including the BBC technology critic, Bill Thompson.

Watch this space for upcoming announcements on who's participating, new data sets and challenges set by the cultural organisations and the digital industries.

Hack for Culture is free to attend, you can register your interest online
