10 November 2011

To coincide with the special screening of documentary film, Sound it Out  with a Q&A session tonight, Picturehouse at FACT have programmed in a whole day of independent music celebrations.

From 12 until 6pm there will be a music fair on FACT's first floor to promote local up and coming bands and artists. As well as having bits and pieces for sale, some artists will be giving away their albums for free! Bands taking part include Jack Evans, Vasco Da Gama, All We Are, Crystal Mystics, Wet Mouth, Mashemon and Nine Tails.

Then at 6.00pm there will be a screening of Sound it Out in Screen 3, a call to arms of a documentary about the fact that over the last 5 years, an independent record shop has closed in the UK every three days. Situated in Sound It Out Records, the last surviving record shop in Teeside, the film has been described as High Fidelity with a Northern Accent!  The producer will be on hand as well for a Q&A session after the film.

Stick around after the film to see some great local bands play in the bar, and with your ticket stub, you will get a free beer as well.
