TEDx returns to Liverpool this year for only the second time - and we're delighted to be hosting the event at FACT! The theme, 'A Mobile Future', has attracted a panel of industry leaders who will explore innovations in the area of mobile communication and its impact across the technology, entertainment & design industries.

Codeworks CEO and Thinking Digital head honcho, Herb Kim (@herbkim) and Dave Brown (@apposing), MD of Liverpool-based mobile agency Apposing, are curating the event which takes place on 1st November. Herb and Dave have put together a great list of speakers with a keynote by Matt Miller, co-founder of ustwo. Also scheduled to present are Ian Wharton, from Zolmo (who were responsible for the Apple Design Award winning Jamie Oliver apps), Jeff Coghlan (founder of 'gamification' experts Matmi) and Radical Company’s Head of Mobile, Stephen Mellish.

The event is being backed by Liverpool John Moores University and Merseyside ACME / Liverpool Vision and is being staged in partnership with intellectual property specialists Shipley IP. The company's MD, Mark Shipley, explains, "In the information age, ideas are the commodity and mobile is increasingly becoming the delivery channel of choice.  Whether it's being used for gaming, advertising or branding, mobile is an intrinsic part of our communications. In such a fast paced and ever changing area, it's going to be fascinating to hear how these key figures in the industry envisage the future."
