Strange is the new normal as Kaboom arrives at FACT
9 June 2011
Kaboom is directed by gay filmmaker Gregg Araki (Mysterious Skin, Smiley Face) and is the story of Smith (Thomas Dekker from Heroes), a bi-sexual student at the “College of Creative Arts”, who has the hots for his very good-looking roommate, Thor (Chris Zylka). To take his mind off the unattainable, chiselled-to-perfection man in his flat, Smith ends up hooking up with London (Juno Temple).
That all sounds quite normal for a rom-com but everything changes when Smith chows down on some hallucinogenic cookies at a party and becomes convinced that he’s witness a murder. As he tries to find out what went on, he gets involved in a mystery that won’t just change his life…. but the destiny of the entire world!! Kaboom is a thriller/comedy/sci-fi/snog-fest movie (yes, really!) with an indie twist. It was part of the Official Selection for the Cannes, Toronto and Sundance Film Festivals so has gone down well so far and we can’t wait to see it here at FACT.
You can get tickets for Kaboom online here, in person at the Box Office or by calling 0871 902 5737.
