Film inspired t-shirts on sale at FACT!
18 April 2011
In late 2010, local film-buffs Uber Torso approached FACT with the idea of displaying a small selection of their movie inspired t-shirts within our building and now have a display on the 2nd Floor!
We asked Uber Torso to tell us more about their t-shirt range -
Uber Torso was setup in 2010 by two local movie enthusiasts who happen to also like t-shirts. In it’s first year they’ve shipped thousands of shirts worldwide to movie fans alike!
The idea behind the brand is quite simple. Subtle references to products, places and corporations within the famous movies we all know and love. From the Tyrell Corporation in Blade Runner and Hattori Hanzo swords in Kill Bill, to the commercial towing spaceship Nostromo in Alien and Stark Industries in Iron Man. Only the most discerning movie fan will acknowledge the subtlety behind these shirts.\r\n
There are new designs and ideas popping up on a regular basis and there’s always fun to be had on Facebook with over 2,000 followers on the Uber Torso fan page so far.\r\n
When asked ‘Why FACT?’, Uber answered: ‘The most knowledgeable and appreciative movie fans attend the independent cinemas and tend to stay away from the larger commercial cinemas. This is similar to the audience that appreciates and buys our shirts. We also understand that a lot of the independent cinemas require government funding to help survive so it’s a reciprocal business relationship as well as a common interest, and where better to start than our home town cinema?\r\n
We are absolutely delighted FACT have embraced our product and we look forward to a great relationship with them and giving the cinema-goers a little something different when going to see a movie.
A selection of shirts are on sale from the Kiosk on FACT's 2nd Floor.
