Through the square window....
23 March 2011
Excitement is building (quite literally) as our forthcoming exhibition Knowledge Lives Everywhere begins to take shape in the galleries!\r\n
The exhibition is being curated and programmed entirely by our Engagement team (community, school and young people). It's the first time in our 21-year history that FACT has turned over the galleries to Engagement and it's a very special moment for us.\r\n
We are working with a London-based interactive design agency called Aberrant Architecture (Aberrant were recently in residence at the V&A) to create seven structures to represent each of the groups we work with. They have worked with individuals including pupils from our partner schools, young people who are part of our Freehand group and citizen journalists from our tenantspin project to create a series of huge obstacles that are playful and interactive - gallery visitors can come and roll a ball through the structures (a bit like a giant game of mousetrap/egg-rolling!).\r\n
The exhibition opens next Friday, but you can come see the installation process in action by taking a peek through a special window into Gallery 1.
