Last Thursday (10 March) saw Executive and Personal Assistants from across Liverpool visit FACT as part of special 'FACT Finding' event. The project was led and hosted by FACT's Assistant to the CEO, Liz Taylor and the objective was to introduce FACT to a whole new audience and to increase footfall into the RopeWalks and Bold St areas.

The amazing thing about the event was that although there was no budget allocated for the project the goodwill of our neighbourhood businesses provided an array of luxury items from Sugacane sweets to Voodou hair products to fill up take away "bags of goodness" for all attendees which were stuffed to overflowing - a testmanet to the generosity of our neighbours and the regard in which FACT is held across the City!

Lucky dip prizes included weekends for two at Base2Stay and Novotel Liverpool to Dior hampers and bulk VIP tickets to Shiverpool as well as the gift that just keeps giving - complimentary FACT membership courtesy of Picturehouse!

Also in attendance were Julie and Lisette of Dior (Boots, Speke Retail Park), Toni Garden from Voodou (Bold St Salon), Marcus from the Chocolate Cellar (Hanover St) and Louise from Tracey Bell (Hanover St, Liverpool and Isle of Man) to ensure that our guests were pampered.

The suppliers, together with Adam Franklin, from Franklins at FACT and our FACT's Visitor Services Manager Joan Burnett were FACT Finders with answers to questions for a whistle stop treasure hunt around the building. Adam's team also did a marvellous job of feeding and watering our guests - with a little help from Barefoot Wine.

Kathleen Carroll of Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine summed the event up when she said:
"It was a great night, enjoyed by all. It was well planned, informative and fun! I know I learned a lot more about FACT and its a knowledge that I will pass around".

And Sarah Gartside PA to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Pro-Vice-Chancellors of Liverpool University said: "All of your benefactors donated such generous prizes it shows what a good relationship FACT has in the community. I also enjoyed unpacking my goodie bag when I got home, it was just like having a birthday - so many gifts! You really did work hard and it showed."

The message from the event was clear: if you see a film at FACT, buy a sandwich or coffee from Franklins at FACT or choose one of our spaces for your meeting or event you won't only get excellent service, you will also be helping an arts based charity which does an awful lot in its community, as well as representing our amazing city internationally on the world's stage.

To emphasise, this Patrick Fox Head of Collaborations highlighted some of the behind the scenes work FACT is responsible for within the community including tenantspin, Freehand and Education Programmes and Tracy Fairclough, Head of HR, represented our Fundraising arm, explaining that as well as becoming a FACT 50 member or making a donation the best way to support our organisation is - quite simply - to visit us.

Joanna Marsden and Charlotte Hoare of Reed Global assisted the coordination of the project and took the opportunity to hold their own competition to find Liverpool's best PA: no easy task given the calibre of our guests!
