Giant laser beam connects FACT with Tate Liverpool!
A huge green laser willl link up FACT with Tate Liverpool this winter. Travelling 800 metres as the crow flies, the beam of light will make a symbolic connection between our two galleries during our joint exhibition of new media artist Nam June Paik.
16 December 2010Artist Peter Appleton, who was behind the laser which joined the Anglican and Metropolitan cathedrals in Liverpool during 2008 Capital of Culture, was commissioned by FACT to create the artwork, Laser Link, which references Nam June Paik’s innovative laser works.
The artwork also marks 2010 as the 50th anniversary of the laser!
The laser will run from now until the end of the exhibition (13 March) from dusk until 11.00pm.
