Tomorrow, celebrated Liverpool director Terence Davies's extraordinary debut will be screened at FACT. Starring Pete Postlethwaite, Distant Voices, Still Lives is based on Davies' memories of 40s and 50s Liverpool.

Focusing on the real-life experiences of his mother, sisters and brother whose lives are thwarted by their brutal, sadistic father, the film shows us beauty and terror in equal measure.

In this Vertigo Magazine interview, Davies shares tales from his childhood and memories of working on the film.

The screening at FACT will also be accompanied with a discussion between neuroscientist Daniel Glaser and Davies' collaborator and director Don Boyd.
