With the Mywar exhibition well underway, FACT invites you to take part in a symposium on Sunday looking at the changing nature of war. Speakers and audience members are asked to come together to discuss and share their perspectives on various conflicts. Speakers include internationally renowned Israeli-born, UK-based artist Oreet Ashery, the Palestinian writer, Samir El-Youssef who authored The Illusion of Return (Halban 2007), Professor Andrew Hoskins who penned Televising War: From Vietnam to Iraq (Continuum 2004), and Kurdish Iraqi performance artist, Adalet Garmiany, amongst others.

As part of the exhibition, FACT has also collaborated with local war veterans, young people and schools to create a series of drawings inspired by war. On Saturday, you can join us for a special workshop where working with and responding to the audio archive with local artists.

On Sunday, Picturehouse at FACT plays host to Duck Baker on his "Roots and Branches of American Music" tour. Baker is one of the few solo performers whose background includes almost every aspect of American music, from electric rock to finger-picking acoustic blues, ragtime, bluegrass and swing jazz. This will be a must see for music connoisseurs!

We're also pleased to say that Kick-Ass is still showing! In a nutshell - high-school nobody decides to become superhero; creates film that everybody loves..!
