FACT has received the highest scores for visitor satisfaction in a survey carried out during the last Liverpool Biennial in 2006
30 October 2007
The festival of contemporary art, which is held every two years, was the subject of a report by The Mersey Partnership, looking into what the event brings to the region. It judged that over £13.5 million was brought to the city by last year's Biennial, and estimates an extra 500,000 people will come to Liverpool when the Biennial is held next year, when Liverpool is European Capital of Culture.
FACT is one of the host venues in the city, last year showcasing new commissions from Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Mathew Buckingham, Shilpa Gupta and Sissel Tolaas. It came top with visitors, alongside St Luke's Church at the top of Bold Street which hosted an installation of rowing boats by artist Matej Vogrincic.
