New stories unveiled as BBC explores the Bold Street Project
30 July 2007
Claire Hamilton's Arts and Culture programme was broadcast from the exhibition in The Media Lounge at FACT on Sunday 29 July.
Interviewing some of the contributors to the exhibition, including researcher Laura Yates, architectural historian Joseph Sharples and BBC broadcaster Roger Hill - who has recorded a series of audio tours for the project - the special broadcast proved to be so popular, listeners arrived at FACT to offer their Bold Street stories.
Ann Murphy was listening to the programme at home and decided to visit FACT to show a picture of herself in the sixties when she worked as a model and a shop on Bold Street. Another listener came to FACT to share his collection of Victorian ointment bottles from Bold Street shops he's unearthed during his work on historical landfill sites. Both stories will be updated on the Bold Street Blog in the next few days.
The Bold Street project continues at FACT until 19 August but you will still be bale to share your stories and memories of the street on the online blog at www.boldstreetblog.org.uk.
