The flagship new media and arts centre was one of four buildings in the region selected by a panel of judges.

Buildings in each of the North West's five regions were nominated for the People's Property Award, organised by Insider magazine and the BBC as part of the Insider Property Awards North West 2007. North West Tonight is showed a series of features giving viewers the chance to vote for their favourite building on Merseyside, Manchester, Cumbria, Lancashire and Cheshire.

Editor of Insider magazine, Michael Taylor says, "The North West has some of the best architecture in the UK and the buildings around us affect us all in different ways. We know that people are passionate about their living environments and that's why we want the people of the North West to vote for their favourite buildings and have their say."

FACT, the headquarters of the Foundation for Art and Creative Technology, was built in 2003. Designed by award-winning architects Austin-Smith:Lord, the building was Liverpool's first purpose-built cultural project for over sixty years. FACT was, and remains, a vibrant flagship in the £100 million redevelopment of Liverpool's Ropewalks District and played a key role in the city's successful Capital of Culture bid.
