Gill Henderson Finds New Role at CreateKX
13 July 2006
Today, Gill Henderson, Director of FACT (Foundation for Art and Creative Technology), announced that she is to leave the organisation in September 2006, to take up the role of Director of CreateKX a creative and cultural development agency for King's Cross in London.
"Leaving FACT and the wonderful team here has been a very difficult decision but I've been offered a unique opportunity. I will miss the city and all the people in FACT and beyond who've been so supportive and inspiring to work alongside." Gill succeeded Eddie Berg Chief Executive and Founder of FACT, who left the organisation in March 2005 to become Artistic Director of the National Centre for the Moving Image in London. Establishing a new team was one of the key challenges that faced Gill on her arrival in April 2005.
Over the last year she has brought together a number of highly skilled and talented individuals to complete the senior management team, worked with the team to programme a range of internationally significant and high-profile events up to and including 2008, and helped establish a new city wide collaborations and education programme.
Commenting on the news FACT Chairman and Vice Chancellor of Liverpool University, Professor Drummond Bone said, "Obviously Gill's departure after just over a year at FACT is disappointing. She will be missed. But the team at FACT is very strong, and will drive forward their already well-advanced plans for 2008. Gill will still be at FACT over the summer." The recruitment process will begin immediately.
