Turning FACT Inside Out Volunteers
Closing date - 28 May 2013
Volunteers Open Day - w/c 3 June
Project dates: - w/c 10 June to end of August 2013
Turning FACT Inside Out celebrates ten years of the iconic FACT Building on Liverpool’s Wood Street. This major exhibition brings together a collection of world-class artists to take over the building, altering the galleries and social spaces and encouraging visitors to question the way they think about and experience cultural centres.
In addition to the exhibition, Turning FACT Inside Out’s Public Programme is founded on audience participation, national collaborations and debate. The projects mirror FACT’s artistic ethos and commitment to exciting, experimental and confrontational work; reflecting upon FACT’s ten years as a safe space for risky conversations.
FACT is offering Volunteer Opportunities to work on the exhibition helping to interpret works for the public.
Volunteers will be asked to help members of the public engage with the artworks in the exhibition and will gain an unique insight into how such an unconventional exhibition really can turn FACT inside out! An interest in digital communication platforms such as Siri and Dragon would be useful, although all volunteers will be trained in their use.
Volunteers will be asked to attend in three-hour sessions for a minimum of 2 sessions a week and will be at the forefront of the presentation of the work. A friendly attitude and willingness to engage with people from all walks of life is essential, as is an understanding that reliability and commitment are key to enjoying this opportunity.
